Captain Phil

...the best part of Deadliest Catch. He was a genuine individual. No doubt one of those people, who if you knew him in real life, made you constantly waver between wanting to hug him or hit him. Captain Phil delivered many 'Oh my god ' moments on the show - he made me laugh. He made me cringe. Either way, it was impossible to be indifferent to him. He surely earned,and deserved, his 15 minutes....

Enjoyment

spent the day rearranging the kitchen and stripping the wallpaper border - getting ready to paint and put down a new floor. It is a useless kitchen so I am trying to redeem it by making it pretty. Hope it works...LOL. We are going to re-do it in a few years,add a dishwasher and farmhouse sink along with moving the stove and putting in an exhaust fan and more counter space. In the meantime, we grill...alot.

Here is comes again

Well this strange yellow light thing was in the sky today then it went back to grey and cloudy and along came the cold front.But in a week or so we will have central heat and air in our house at last! Heat is not a big deal here usually and we have window air conditioners( the big one in the living room has heat and it really works well)but it will be nice to get our windows back - three cheers for Mitsubishi Mr Slim - hip hip hooray! And another shout out to the Federal government for the $1500 rebate and CPS Energy for their $480 rebate too! brought the cost down to $10,000.00-gotta love 2nd mortgages....

Sunday

Had a nice dinner of soup,naan and razzleberry pie for dessert. It is overcast and getting colder again. My project of the day was to take the old dogs beds, wash them and fill them with cedar chips(I threw the nasty loose stuffing out). Yesterday I glued some microfiber blankets on 3 sides and let them dry. Today I filled the blankets with the cedar chips and put them inside the washable covers. Smell good!The dogs seem to hate them. Stupid dogs anyway ....LOL.

2 songs I HATE

My most hated song EVER : brittany spears "3"-..I mean who really cares about her sex life except her?? Why didn't she just call or text her latest boy toy instead of putting her business out on radio - he wouldn't take her calls maybe?!?

The next is "fireflies " by Owl City - what on earth was that poor boy smoking and what was it laced with? To make matters worse the new song "vanilla twilight" is just as strange - but I do applaud Owl City's efforts to raise money for the Red Cross. Miss spears might consider a little community service herself instead of being so self serving.....

Rain, rain go away...

The driveway is flooded after 3 inches of rain since last night. I hate when my  feet get wet walking to the car or mailbox..pathetic, right? I am definitely going to buy some cool pull on rubber garden boots this year for next year when it rains again.

gainfully unemployed day 64

Well the house is almost CLEAN! and it is nice to have time to cook a meal every once in a while but I sure miss some aspects of  'going'  to work . Not much to apply for here abouts that really interests me especially after working someplace like Ft. Sam. It was a GREAT place to work and the work actually meant something.  But I am sure something will turn up - doing mostly online apps thru TWC  and going thru the phone book and sending out resume's. And I am plotting out what new things I can teach myself. The plan is to teach myself to knit continental style and am looking online for some free college level physics courses to audit...should keep me off the streets and out of trouble for awhile.
